New Year's Eve playdates

On Wednesday, Rebekah and Alicia came over so the girls could play together. Maggie had been itching for someone to come play in her Rose Petal Cottage, and since we'd originally had plans to get together with Alicia and Rebekah before Christmas, this worked out well. Maggie and Rebekah had a great time, although the RPC didn't see much action. Instead, they played with a lot of princess stuff. Alicia's tickle fight was a huge hit as well ...

Later, the girls dressed up in princess dresses and put on a show for us. They'd come dashing down the stairs, like so ...

... and then belt out "Jingle Bells," "Deck the Halls," or "Gloria" (as Rebekah calls "Angels We Have Heard on High") for us.

Later that evening, we went to Bill & Karen's house for NYE. Chris and Jenn were there too, and we all had dinner together. The kids enjoyed playing with all of the new toys; here, they're watching Sleeping Beauty.

Chris and Jenn got a Wii for Christmas, and the boys made a special trip to their house later to go get it. It was the first time I had ever played the Wii, and it was so much fun! The absolute funniest was when Bobby and Bill played tennis against each other. Bobby was characteristically subdued while he played; a mere flick of the wrist or reach of the arm was all he needed to stay in the game. Bill, on the other hand, had broken a sweat after 30 seconds of playing, so exuberant and dramatic were his motions. While the rest of us were rolling with laughter - literally - Jenn took this picture. Can you see the differences in the two players' styles?

Happy new year, everyone!
