WTCI Family Fun Day

Yesterday was the WTCI (our PBS affiliate) Kids Club's party at Lake Winnepesaukah. Lake Winnie is the Chattanooga area's best effort at a decent amusement park, and this was the first time Maggie and I had ever been (Bobby grew up going there, and he remembers hearing the roller coaster from his grandmother's house nearby). It wasn't bad ... it's no Dollywood or Disney, at least not for the adults, but for a 3-year-old, it was just as good.

The swings were her favorite ride. Swings are her favorite anyway, at a playground or in her own backyard. When we were at Dollywood, they had a big version of these swings, and she was too small to ride on it. She was thrilled to have one just her size at Lake Winnie and rode them twice in a row.

She was also pretty curious about this lion water fountain:

She also loved this big slide ... she and Bobby went down it together.

We were hot and tired at the end of our day, but all in all it was a great day to be there. Even with the kids' club party, which I assumed would make it more crowded, Maggie rarely had to wait at all to ride any rides. You can find more pictures on our Shutterfly album collection. Currently, the Lake Winnie album is the first one in the list.
