We're home!

We got home around 1 p.m. yesterday. I love getting home that early, as opposed to later in the afternoon or evening. We weren't completely wiped out, and I was able to get nearly everything unpacked and all the laundry done. (Not to mention vacuuming up 9 days' worth of cat hair - yikes!) It helped that the beach house had a washer/dryer, so we did some laundry before we left and weren't completely swimming in dirty clothes when we got home.

Back to normal today ... Maggie had preschool, where she proudly gave Mrs. Dana a seashell she'd picked out just for her. We went straight from school to Kindermusik, where the home project had been to make a rain stick. I misread the book and was a week ahead, so Maggie had her homemade rain hat, but not the rain stick. No biggie ... Mrs. Anne had extras. We came home and made a rain stick anyway, just because it looked like fun. Maggie loved scooping the lentils and tiny pasta into it, but now I'm going to have to vacuum again. Once the stuff was inside, we wrapped it in pink construction paper, and Maggie colored the outside, applied stickers, and wrote her name. Here's the finished product:

Tonight she has a gymnastics class, to make up for the one she missed Saturday, so that's going to make for a busy evening. What else is new? It seems, like most of you, that we always manage to stay busy.
