Vote for CCA!

When I lived in South Carolina my first year out of college, I volunteered with an animal rescue group called Concerned Citizens for Animals (CCA). CCA operates a no-kill animal shelter, runs adoption programs, and provides low-cost spay/neuter certificates to those who couldn't otherwise afford to have their pets fixed. My mom and some of her friends still volunteer with CCA -- it's a great organization.

Now, CCA is in the running for some awesome grants! Together with Petfinder, The Animal Rescue Site is awarding $100,000 in grants to eligible Petfinder.com animal rescue organizations. The grand prize is a $20,000 grant, and there are many more prizes ranging from $1,000 for weekly winners up to $5,000 for the runner-up. The Petfinder.com rescue organizations with the most votes will win.

You can click to help animals at http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/, and then vote for CCA as your favorite participating shelter. Clicking and voting are free, with no registration required. You can vote once every day during the Challenge.Visit http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/ to learn more.

Please vote for CCA! To do so, just go to the site above; first click on the big purple rectangle that says "Click here to give" (don't worry -- you won't have to pay ... various sponsors donate pet food to shelters based on the number of clicks). Then, click the small "Vote Now" button at the top. Then, in the "Search for a shelter" field, type Concerned Citizens for Animals, and select SC from the state drop-down menu. CCA's info will pop up, and you can click the "Vote" button.

It's less complicated than this makes it all sound ... a few clicks and your vote will be counted. And hopefully, CCA will win some well-deserved money as a result. You can vote once a day, so check back daily!

For more information about CCA, you can go to their website. Thanks in advance for voting!
